Candles should always be applied by another person.

Place the candle through the protective disc and light the candle at the open coned end, then place it upright over the ear canal.

The ear candle is correctly positioned when no smoke is given off to the side and you hear a pleasant crackling. The filter (wadding) within the ear candle prevents any burned residues getting into the ear.

You can burn the candle to the indicated mark and then extinguish in a glass of water.
